The NADA Executive

The executive team has a vast wealth of experience of the business of Dentistry and are very well placed to offer advice as can be seen from the short biographies below:

Barry Kinshuck

Barry Kinshuck - Chair

I was delighted to be elected chairman of NADA at the 2017 NADA Conference in Birmingham.
I have been in general dental practice for over 40 years and a clinical dental adviser since 2004 first for Wigan PCT and then appointed to Greater Manchester area Team in 2012.
I am currently chairman of Wigan LDC and an elected member of GDPC representing Greater Manchester.
Recently I have been working as a specialist adviser for CQC.

Nick Lamb

Nick Lamb - Secretary

Nick Lamb is the Secretary of NADA and has held this post since 2010. Nick is a dental practice adviser for NHS England (Midlands and East) and which covers all of East Anglia and prior to that was a DPA to several PCT's. Nick previously was an FD trainer and now works for HEE concerning the FD trainer appointments in both the East and in London, along with being an FD equivalence panel member in the east. Nick lectures throughout the East Anglia and in London on a wide variety of topics including NHS Rules and Regulations for returners to practice and has been a panel member of a working group of NICE. Nick before studying dentistry completed a BSc in Biological Sciences specialising in Parasitology and has continued his interest in this field and sits on local antimicrobial working groups and has a keen interest in infection control and appropriate prescribing.


Tom Norfolk

Tom Norfolk - Treasurer

I am a Dental Practice Adviser for NHS England (Midlands and East) and the Chair of the Local Dental Professional Network in East Anglia.My wife and I own a large dental practice in Suffolk where we enjoy working with other dental professionals including associates, hygienists, oral health educators and nurses with various additional skills. I am a Foundation Dentist (FD1) trainer and I a Clinical Educator for student hygienists based at the University of Essex. Outside work, my wife and I have three young children who keep us busy. I am currently enjoying sailing dinghies and small catamarans with the children.


Mike Williams

Mike Williams - Educational Adviser

I am delighted to be co-opted onto the NADA exec for 2018-19 as the educational adviser. NADA as an organisation embraces so many different professional dental advisers, we have a wealth of knowledge and information which is a huge resource.
Apart from my work with NADA still busy as a dental adviser to NHSE. Most Fridays sees me with my Liverpool Foundation Training scheme and my group of Foundation Dentists.
Like Barry Kinshuck our NADA president I am a CQC specialist dental adviser. When not on ‘professional’ duties looking after two grandchildren and the various animals we have on our smallholding on Anglesey means I don’t get bored!


Jo O'Sullivan

Jo O'Sullivan - Conference 2019 Lead

Jo qualified from Newcastle University in 1986 and has worked as a GDP for 32 years still practising 3 days a week. Along with her sister she owns a large 6 surgery practice in North Leeds which is a training practice providing NHS and private dentistry.
Secretary of Leeds LDC since 1994, she has also been a dental adviser for NHS England since 1999.
She has also previously worked for CQC as an inspector and NCAS as a clinical reviewer.
Married with 3 grown up children she loves holidays, gardening and spending time with her family.
Jo is delighted to have been co opted onto the NADA executive and is looking forward to organising this year's conference in Leeds.


Pam Kaur

Pam Kaur - National Lead

I am a Dental Practice Adviser for NHS England Central Midlands.
I have been a Dental Foundation Trainer as well as a Dental Therapist Trainer. I Have also been a Training Programme Director for the Wessex Deanery and am currently supporting HEEM with the PLVE process. Outside of dentistry I enjoy travel, theatre and visiting art galleries.


Stuart Allan

Stuart Allan

Graduated from Sheffield University in 1978, then taught Restorative dentistry there whilst undertaking Doctoral research. MFGDP(UK) 1998. Co-opted onto Sheffield LDC as secondary care representative. Part time associate in a practice in Ashton under Lyne at this time, later partner, then owner, now partner again. Member of the LDC and appointed secretary 2006, founded the Federation of Greater Manchester LDCs and perform the role of chair and secretary. Represent the NW region at GDPC liaison and sit on the LDC Conference agenda committee. Joint convener of the West Pennine PASS scheme. Appointed Dental Practice Adviser to Manchester PCT in 2009, on the dissolution of the PCTs, appointed Professional Adviser-Dentistry to the Greater Manchester Area Team. Regularly lectures on regulation, law and ethics as applied to dentistry for the Health Education England, BDA Sections, LDCs etc
